About ROSystemGuides

RO System Guides helps homeowners compare reverse osmosis systems, water filters, and related drinking water treatment products. The site focuses on practical questions: which type of system fits a home, what contaminants a filter is designed to reduce, how installation works, and what long-term maintenance may cost.

Our main topics include under-sink reverse osmosis systems, tankless RO systems, countertop filters, whole-house filters, well water filtration, filter maintenance, and common water quality concerns such as lead, arsenic, fluoride, chlorine, nitrates, PFAS, microplastics, sediment, and TDS.

Our approach

Water filtration is a technical category, and not every product is right for every home. We aim to explain the tradeoffs behind each recommendation, including system type, contaminant reduction claims, certifications, water waste, filter life, replacement cost, installation difficulty, and use-case fit.

When we discuss product claims or health-adjacent water quality topics, we prefer documentation from manufacturers, certification bodies, water quality organizations, public agencies, and other authoritative sources. Readers should still verify current product certifications and test their own water when contamination is a concern.

Editorial standards

Our editorial process is described in our Editorial Policy. Product comparison criteria are explained in How We Review Water Filters.
